Orwell Connection Choir is formed of a four part harmony from bass to soprano. We are always welcoming of new members, come along to a free rehearsal and meet our friendly choir.
The Choir originated over 30 years ago as parents, friends, staff and pupils of Orwell High School in Felixstowe. Ever since, the choir has been going from strength to strength, performing at a variety of locations across Suffolk. To this day we still regularly rehearse in our hometown of Felixstowe.
It is our mission to share our love of music with our community and to promote the soulful wellbeing of song.
Currently, the choir performs concerts at Christmas, Springtime and in the Summer for local venues in Suffolk, performing at many charity events to raise money for local causes. We also host our own concerts at well-known venues in the local area.
We encourage you to come along and enjoy our song!
Our Musical Director Kaye Stone studied the cello and piano at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she specialised in Early music and the Baroque Cello.
Kaye gained a PGCE at Homerton College, Cambridge, before starting her teaching career as Head of Music.
Kaye is currently Head of Senior School at Ipswich High School.
Kaye is the director of Orwell Connection Choir and Ipswich Bach Choir. She is actively involved in many music events in Felixstowe and the surrounding area.
The choir's very talented accompanist is Rebecca Collier.
Rebecca was a pupil of Orwell High School and studied music with Geraldine Patey- Linden School of Music, and at Chetham's school of music in Manchester.
Rebecca also plays piano for a 1940's band 'Skyline' and plays the Trombone with The Galaxy Big Band.
